Antitumor Activity of Ru-para-cymene-μ-o-dichloride against Dalton’s Lymphoma in Vivo and in Vitro

چکیده
Ruthenium complexes are an object of great attention in the field of medicinal chemistry because of their selective antimetastatic properties and low systemic toxicity in comparison to cisplatin, the widely used antitumor drug. Ruthenium-para-cymene-μ-O-dichloride, a newly synthesised Ruthenium compound was used against Dalton’s lymphoma in vivo and in vitro to examine the cytotoxicity of the drug. The percentage survival of mice bearing Dalton’s lymphoma after treatment with different concentrations of Ruthenium-para-cymene-μ-O-dichloride was found to increase significantly along with increase in the life span of tumor bearing mice. The percentage survival and percentage increase in the life span of tumor bearing mice were found to be dose dependant. Similarly percentage survival of lymphoma cells in vitro was found to be dose dependent.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate in vivo antitumor efficacy of two arene ruthenium complexes, [(η6-arene) RuCl (2-pcdpm)] complex 1 and [(η6-arene) RuCl(4-mtdpm)] complex 2 (η6-arene = C10H14), containing new chelating ligands [(2-pcdpm) = 4-(2-methoxypyridyl)-phenyldipyrromethene] and [4-mtdpm = 5-(4methylthiophenyl)-dipyrromethene] respectively. Recently, we reported their potential a...

AbstractThe purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the antiproliferative and apoptogenic mechanistic studies of methanol extract of Anthocephalus cadamba (MEAC) on Dalton’s lymphoma ascites (DLA) cells treated mice. Determination of antiproliferative activity was performed by using different DLA cells (2×106 cells, i.p.) inoculated mice groups (n=12). Groups were treated for 14 consecuti...

The [Ru(DMSO)4Cl2] is a well known compound among the ruthenium complexes. Here, we report a unique binding of this compound with Calf Thymus DNA (CT-DNA) by spectroscopic and electrophoresis studies. The biological studies of this compound carried out in vivo and in vitro experiments on mice bearing with Dalton’s lymphoma were performed. The six co-ordinated [Ru(DMSO)4Cl2] complex was prepared...

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of ethanolic extract of leaves of Leptadenia reticulata leaves (LELR) against Dalton’s Ascitic Lymphoma (DAL) in Swiss Albino mice. DAL cells were injected intraperitoneally (106 cells/mouse) to the mice. Two days after cells injection the animals were treated with 200 mg/kg of LELR for 8 days. Five-fluorouracil (20 mg/kg) was used ...
